Open Day & Panel Jam

+ Auction in aid of County Air Ambulance

Sunday 14th October 2007

The sun shone and despite last minute nerves a steady trickle of people arrived at our first event.  It was great to see the car park full of rods and spectacular vehicles including the legendary French Connection Mustang which still sports its 1974 paint work by equally legendary Ray Mumford and others.

Due to the fine weather we were able to expand outside and several of the artists set up their stalls to display their work.

The atmosphere was brilliant and it appears that the general consensus of opinion was that this should not be the last!  People who had merely met on line or seen others work on Pinhead Lounge, Sketchkult etc were able to make themselves known to each other first hand and everyone was happy to answer questions, demonstrate, and learn from each other.  The striping & Airbrush have a go sections were in great demand.

The auction was a further awesome success.  Over 40 panels were donated from UK, Ireland, Sweden, Holland (Elvin & Olaf the metalwork brothers brought theirs!) USA & Belgium with thanks to Unkl Ian, Thrall, Ralph Hancox, Tim Mercury, Shamrocker, Ellworks, Lars Buller Kylvik & Fat Daddy Himself.

Sam Hubbard from Airbrush Perfections & Kris took charge of the Auction and the panels were in great demand everyone having  earmarked at least one favourite to bid for.  Other donations included Airbrush & Pinstripe courses, brushes and equipment.

The end result was an amazing £950 raised for the County Air Ambulance service!
