Remember: when selecting your brushes, that the lower the size number the finer the lines to be produced.  

These brushes must always be oiled when stored and kept flat.

I prefer to use neatsfoot oil which is a traditional pinstripers choice. 

Some books, written by professional stripers, tell you to trim the 'belly' out of the brush. 

Don't do it ! It destroys the paint holding capacity if you go too far.  NOT for  beginner.

Kelly Mack

Tom Kelly’s grandfather  O.Z. Crozier (aka The Baron)  of Baron Roth & Kelly started striping wagons & buggies for the Studebaker Brothers in the 1900’s. He then striped at the Ford Motor Co for 25 years., through the 20’s & 30’s and part of the 40’s.  In the 50’s Tom asked his grandfather to stripe his mates car and he did. The Baron thought it ight be good to go into business striping and asked grandson Tom to go in with him.  

Tom Kelly has been striping everyday for the past 53 years! The only brushes that The Baron & Tom Kelly ever used were the Mack ‘#1 & #2 /

Norris Trickster

The Trickster is a striper with a handle length of  4.25”.  Jim Norris helped design the brush and with his signwriting background, likes the longer length of the handle.   The striper is made from pure blue squirrel and has a length out of 2.25”. The long length of the hairs, allows the brush to carry a good load of paint for a long distance. You can stand the brush up on its tip for really fine lines even in the larger sizes.

Norris Trickster will be available in 3 sizes #00 to #1 and ranges from  £14 - £16 each

Return of the Mack 1010 (Grumbacher)

 An historic brush from the earlier years of striping.  The Grumbacher company went out of existence  now re-introduced by popular demand and renamed the Mack 1010.  Mack states

 “The Grumbacher Company was sold several years ago and the new company discontinued many of the quality brush products.  When the two Grumbacher stripers were no longer offered we found the company who had been making these for Grumbacher and began offering the same brush, but with our name on the handle.  Unfortunately that manufacturing company went out of business in mid 2002 and we assume the assets were purchased by a company in India.  We were concerned about quality, distance, exchange rates etc., so we worked with several "Grumbacher users" and developed our own version of the old Grumbacher 1010.  We can not offer the 1020 black plastic handle, since we would have to buy too many handles to get a cost effective price.  Stripers who worked with us to develop this new brush also suggested that it be a bit longer”

Made just like our Mack-Lite Pinstriping Brush, but with mixed hair to give the brush more body. Water-base paint has a higher density and we must mix taklon with pure squirrel for body and snap. A generous amount of pure squirrel ensures the brush can carry enough paint to make it a good striper

This striper has a mixture of black synthetic and blue squirrel hair. This chrome ferruled brush has a length out of 1.7/8" and performs well in all mediums with the emphasis on being used with urethanes.
